Summary
In the paper, different aspects of heat transfer and pressure drop in heat exchangers designed for minimum charge are discussed. The focus is on two-phase flow in channels with diameters between 0.5 and 3 mm. The heat transfer mechanisms with these diameters are different from those in larger diameter tubes and reliable correlations for heat transfer and pressure drop are still not available. Some specially developed correlations for boiling and condensation in narrow tubes are presented.
