Summary

Evaporators are described in which boiling takes place in tubes assembled in hexagonal bundles in a hexagonal shell. These evaporators are used as water coolers with low and medium refrigeration capacity. Based on tests, it has been found that the evaporators show quite large global heat exchange coefficients, a relatively low hydraulic resistance, and specific mass and dimensions below those of transverse partition evaporators.
