Summary

The performance and specific characteristics of shell and tube evaporators which have been manufactured for several years are analysed. On the basis of this analysis a new ammonia evaporation unit was developed, improving the operation of the tube bundle under variable conditions of heat flux and variable boiling temperatures. The general technical features of the new evaporator are also explained. The tests are described and results given. C.C.
