High temperature absorption/compression heat pump for upgrading industrial waste heat.

Author(s) : BAKSAAS H. S., GRANDUM S.

Summary

This document describes how a hybrid absorption/compression heat pump using water/ammonia as a working pair operates. The design of this type of circuit makes it possible to upgrade waste heat (e.g. 50 °C) to high-potential heat (e.g. 113 °C). The COP of this type of system is excellent (e.g. 3.7).
