Summary

The first part of the paper dealt with infections which occurred in hospitals and were caused by the documented pathogens derived from the hospital patients or endogenous microbiological agents. In the present part of the paper the hospital infections along with their causes are discussed. The microbiological air fouling and its sources are presented. The detail characteristics of the selected microorganisms transported by air along with an assessment of their mutual influence are presented. The second part of the paper will deal with the contribution of air conditioning and ventilation systems used in order to decrease the risk of infection in hospital buildings.
