How to develop high-temperature superconductors.
Comment on élabore les supraconducteurs à haute température critique.
Author(s) : MANUEL P.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The principal properties of high-temperature superconductors are described. Intensive development is being conducted with a view to using these materials in high-capacity electrical plant. The author analyzes the fundamental and technological problems to be overcome in order to produce competitive superconducting wires or tape and indicates the main avenues explored at present in order to overcome difficulties. Performance and achievements in terms of development using various processes are then reviewed.
