Summary

Nine psychrotrophic bacteria isolated from raw ewe milk microflora were examined for whole cell hydrolase activities. High esterase and lipase activities of two of them were detected. Leucine aminopeptidase activities of five of them were also strong. Only Enterobacter species and A. hydrophila exhibited glycosidase activity. The bacterial strains were also investigated for their intracellular protease, peptidase, and esterase activities.
