DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF THE USE OF HYPOTHERMIA DURING RESECTION OF A TUMOUR IN THE POSTERIA FOSSA OF A PREGNANT WOMAN IN THE 21ST WEEK OF GESTATION. ROUTINE COOLING TO 303 K (30 DEG C) BEFORE START OF SURGERY AND TO 300 TO 301 K (27 TO 28 DEG C) DURING MANIPULATION OF THE TUMOUR WAS ALLOWED. THE FETAL HEART WAS ALSO MONITORED THROUGHOUT THE OPERATION. RECOVERY WAS QUICK AND UNCOMPLICATED. PREGNANCY CONTINUED NORMALLY AND TERMINATED SUCCESSFULLY AT 40 WEEKS, DEVELOPMENT WAS NORMAL.
