Summary

THE RESULTS OF A STUDY ON THE MECHANISMS AND BEHAVIOUR OF THE INDUCTION OF LETHAL DAMAGE IN BIOLOGICAL OBJECTS OF DIFFERENT LEVELS OF ORGANIZATION ARE REPRESENTED. IT IS SHOWN THAT NON-LETHAL DAMAGE CAN RESULT IN A DECREASE IN THE RESISTANCE OF CRYOPRESERVED CELLS TO THE EFFECT OF EXTREME FACTORS AND CHANGES IN FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITY (MAINLY INHIBITION) THAT ARE FOLLOWED BY REVERSIBLE INHIBITION OF THE PROTEIN, NUCLEIC ACID BIOSYNTHESIS AND BIOENERGY PROCESSES.
