Summary

Describes a study of the performance of a task ventilation system that permits occupants to control the flow rate and direction of air supplied to their work space. Air was extracted via a ceiling-mounted return grille. To study the air flow patterns, the age of air at multiple locations was measured using tracer gas. To study the transport of tobacco, cigarettes were smoked mechanically. Presents the major findings and discusses them.
