THE COMPOSITION ANDTHERMAL PROPERTIES OF THE AIR IN THE NON-INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENT ARE OF CONCERN BECAUSE OF THEIR IMPACTS ON THE HEALTH AND COMFORT OF MAN. WHEREAS THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN MAN AND THE THERMAL CLIMATE HAVE BEEN FAIRLY WELL ESTABLISHED, KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MAN'S RESPONSE TO THE AIR QUALITY DIMENSION OF INDOOR CLIMATE IS LESS DETAILED. AFTER A SHORT PRESENTATION OF THE BASIC PARAMETERS IN THE THERMAL CLIMATE, NEW FINDINGS CONCERNING THE PERCEPTION OF AIR QUALITY ARE PRESENTED.
