FROM A DESCRIPTION OF THE PRINCIPLE OF THE BATCH OPERATION OF SOLID-GAS CHEMICAL HEAT PUMPS, THE AUTHORS SHOW THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE CONTINUOUS REFRIGERATION BY GROUPING 2 OR 3 REACTORS. A MACHINE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING 50 KILOWATTS OF REFRIGERATION IS DIMENSIONED WHOSE TEST VALIDATION IS UNDER WAY. THE COP OF SUCH A MACHINE RANGES BETWEEN 0.44 AND 0.39 WHEN THE REFRIGERATION TEMPERATURE RANGES BETWEEN 273 AND 233 K (0 AND -40 DEG C).
