Summary

The refrigeration, food, medical, nuclear, space, and electronic industries are all concerned by tightness. After reviewing the different methods for developing tight enclosures or packages, the author stresses the necessity of monitoring their tightness. There exists numerous control methods, in particular the method using helium as a tracer gas.
