Summary
Influence of growing conditions on yield and postharvest life of Raphanus sativus var. niger was studied during two years in experimental garden of Estonian Agricultural University. Five sowing times and three growing densities were studied. After harvesting radishes were stored in cool storage room in plus or minus 2 °C and 95% relative humidity for 110 days. The content of dry matter, sugar, nitrates, ascorbic acid and weight of roots was designated before and after storage. Correlations are found between sparse density growing conditions and quality losses during storage.
