Study of refrigerated storage and quality of three varieties of melon.

Summary

The objective of the work was, with Honey Dew, Top Score and Amarello melons, to improve the quality, to extend the storage period, to reduce the post-harvest losses and to transfer the developed technology to the productive sector. The following studies were realized: determination of the best harvesting date, response to different storage conditions and chemical composition, nutritive contribution and modifications during storage; elaboration of little frozen balls of melon is also studied for utilization of refuses. Results are given.
