Summary
THE AUTHORS SET UP THE NORMALLY ACCEPTED EQUATIONS FOR HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN A PLATE-FINNED AIR COOLING AND DEHUMIDIFYING COIL USING ITERATIVE LOOPS IN COMPUTER PROGRAMS. DIVIDING THE HEAT TRANSFER SURFACE INTO A LARGE NUMBER OF SMALL AREAS THEY FOUND THE DISTRIBUTION OF LOCAL SENSIBLE AND LATENT HEAT TRANSFER. THE EFFECT OVERALL FOR A ONE ROW AND TWO ROW COIL WERE THEN COMPUTED AND COMPARED WITH THE USUAL METHOD OF ACCEPTING AN AVERAGE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT. ALTHOUGH THE RESULT SHOWED A SLIGHT DECREASE IN PERFORMANCE USING THE LOCAL COEFFICIENTS, THE DIFFERENCE WAS NOSRI D. W. H.
