Summary

RESULTS OF A TEST STUDY ON HEAT EXCHANGE ON THE BOILING OF NITROGEN IN A 100 MILLIMETRE LONG VERTICAL ANNULAR CHANNEL. SIZE OF THE PERIPHERAL CLEARANCE: 0.14 TO 3.5 MM, MEASUREMENTS MADE IN A PRESSURE RANGE OF 12.5 TO 900 KILOPASCALS. IT IS SHOWN THAT UNDER < IMPROVED > HEAT EXCHANGE CONDITIONS, THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT DOES NOT DEPEND ON PRESSURE, CONTRARY TO BOILING, BUT THAT THE BOUNDARY VALUE OF THE PERIPHERAL CLEARANCE, CORRESPONDING TO THE PASSAGE TO THESE CONDITIONS, DECREASES WITH THE INCREASE IN PRESSURE AND IS LINKED TO THE DIAMETER SIZE OF DETACHMENT OF A BUBBLE.
