Summary

The study reports on a numerical modelling of air flow and heat transfer around a horizontal retail display cabinet for frozen foods, placed under the air blowing air-conditioning system. This numerical solution is performed for a three-dimensional configuration by using the PHOENICS CFD package. The model can predict the temperature distribution inside the retail cabinet as a function of the principal parameters related to the position, velocity and jet direction of the air blowing.
