Influence of volumetric loss on noise emission of radial fans.

Type of article: Article
Summary
The paper examines an optimum wheel inlet configuration for aerodynamic and acoustic performance of radial fans with different blade shapes, as they are affected by different annular passage positions and volumetric losses respectively. It was found that inefficient passage positions along with the resulting volumetric losses exert a considerably higher influence on noise emission than had been assessed.
