Summary

The energy consumption and operating costs of a chilled water storage system at different chilled water temperatures are compared with a project design example and analyzed and so are the connection modes (in series or parallel) of water chillers. The results show that the annual power consumption of parallel connection of water chillers is higher than that of serial connection by 4.6%; when the supply/return chilled water temperature is set at 6°C/14°C, the annual power consumption and power rate are less than those in the 4°C/14°C condition, and the annual power consumption is 7.4% less.
