Summary

WHEN SAMPLES OF MUSCLE PROTEIN ARE STORED ONE NIGHT AT THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OR SEVERAL DAYS AT 273-277 K (0-4 C) PRIOR TO BEING ANALYSED BY DODECYL-SODIUM SULPHATE ELECTROPHORESIS, ADDITIONAL ELECTROPHORETIC IMAGES ARE OBSERVED, PROVING PROTEOLYSIS. THIS STUDY SHOWS IT IS DUE TO MUSCLE ENDOGENEOUS PROTEASES. THE AUTHORS SUGGEST THESE ARTIFACTS CAN BE PREVENTED BY ALTERING THE HANDLING OF THE SAMPLES. (Bull. bibliogr.
