Interactions between apple cultivars and storage conditions with special reference to controlled atmospheres.

Type of article: Article
Summary
Storage potential is an innate characteristic of apple cultivars and storage life is extended by the use of refrigeration and, in many cases, controlled atmosphere storage. The use of refrigerated storage in air, controlled atmosphere storage, elevated CO2 storage, low oxygen storage, choice of controlled atmosphere for apple cultivars and breeding of new storage cultivars are discussed.
