Summary

AFTER THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE MONTREAL PROTOCOL REGARDING THE REDUCTION OF THE EMISSION OF CFCS AND ITS RATIFICATION BY GOVERNMENTS, MEASURES ARE TO BE TAKEN TO REACH THE AIMS OF THE PROTOCOL. EACH COUNTRY APPROACHES IT IN A DIFFERENT WAY ; THE ARTICLE PRESENTS A SURVEY STATING THE SITUATION FOR EACH COUNTRY, THE CHOSEN STRATEGY AND THE MEASURES WHICH ARE TAKEN OR FORESEEN. IN A NUMBER OF COUNTRIES THE GOVERNMENT WISHES TO REDUCE THE EMISSION OF CFCS MORE QUICKLY THAN THE MONRL PROTOCOL REQUIRES. SPECIAL ATTENTION IS PAID TO THE SITUATION IN THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES.
