THE CONFERENCE DEALT WITH THE SITUATION REGARDING THE DEPLETION OF THE OZONE LAYER ; IT DISCUSSED AND PROPOSED MEASURES TO REDUCE CFC USES AND EMISSIONS AND IT PRESENTED TECHNICAL POSSIBILITIES TO REALIZE SUCH REDUCTIONS. THIS REPORT DESCRIBES THE MEASURES AGREED BY THE MONTREAL PROTOCOL AND AS PROPOSED BY THE USA. TECHNICAL POSSIBILITIES TO REDUCE THE USES AND EMISSIONS OF CFC'S FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN PRESENTED IN WORKSHOPS AND AT A TRADE FAIR. THE TECHNIQUES CAN BE DIVIDED IN 3 CATEGORIES: A) EMISSION REDUCTION TECHNIQUES ; B) SUBSTITUTION OF THE MOST HARMFUL CFC'S BY ALTERNATIVE REFRIGERANTS ; AND C) ALTERNATIVE CYCLES.
