Summary
The results suggest that although most spermatozoa leak adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) as a consequence of membrane damage, those that withstood freezing and thawing maintain their levels to fresh values for several hours; those spermatozoa would be responsible for the fertilizing ability of thawed semen.
