Summary
A new type of water chilling unit was constructed through discharging the potential energy of dehumidification, which based on the storing energy mode of liquid desiccant dehumidification. The water chilling unit could provide cold-water source for air conditioning, especially for radiant ceiling cooling systems. The paper describes the principle and analysis of liquid desiccant potential storing energy and some coefficients of performance of the systems have been calculated. After presumptive reversible process analysis, the effect curves of evaporative temperature, cooling water and desiccant solution mass concentration on normalized cooling capacity were obtained theoretically. Finally, the results indicated that the new type of water chilling unit could produce the cold water for air conditioning under certain operating conditions and obtained fairly large cooling capacities, and furthermore quantitative analysis found that the normalized cooling capacity might reach 10 kW.
