Investigation of a hybrid compression absorption heat pump system for high temperatures.

Number: pap. 1283

Author(s) : WERSLAND M. B., EIKEVIK T., TOLSTOREBROV I.

Summary

This study introduces two simulation models for hybrid compression-absorption industrial heat pump cases: with two-stage piston compressor and a screw compressor. A heat source of 30? was utilized to achieve a heat sink outlet temperature of 115?. The circulation ratio was varied to evaluate the effect on the COP and heating capacity. The system with a two-stage piston compressor with intercooling obtained a COP of 2.04 with the circulation ratio 0.72, which was 42% of the Lorenz COP. The intermediate pressure and compressor cooling were optimized. The system with a screw compressor had a lower performance.
