Summary

The paper deals with experimental investigation of a two-phase liquid-vapour ejector operating with volatile fluid. This kind of the ejector is particularly suitable for application in refrigeration systems as a device for recovery of the throttling loss. The investigations reported in this paper have been carried out for refrigerant R123. In this particular case, the operation of the ejector was essentially isothermal. A special testing stand for investigation of two-phase ejectors has been described in the paper. The selected experimental results of performance of the two-phase ejector have been presented. The effect of the geometry of the mixing chamber as well as operating parameters on the efficiency and compression ratio has been showed. The pressure distributions in the ejector for various compression ratios have been also presented.
