Summary

THE DEPENDENCE OF THE RESISTANCE OF GERMANIUM BICRYSTALS, CONTAINING LARGE-ANGLE INTERCRYSTALLITE BOUNDARIES, ON THE MAGNETIC FIELD STRENGTH AND TEMPERATURE AND ALSO THE MAGNETORESISTANCE ANISOTROPY ARE INVESTIGATED IN THE 0.035 TO 10 K TEMPERATURE RANGE AND IN MAGNETIC FIELDS UP TO 20 KILO-OERSTED. IT IS FOUND THAT IN ALL SAMPLES STUDIED AN ANOMALOUS MAGNETORESISTANCE AND ANOMALOUS TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF THE RESISTANCE ARE OBSERVED. THE RESULTS ARE DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF THE WEAK ELECTRON LOCALIZATION THEORY AND ELECTRON-ELECTRON COUPLING IN THE TWO-DIMENSIONAL CASE.
