Summary

MAGNETORESISTANCE OF TUNGSTEN CRYSTALS WITH DEFECTIVE SURFACE LAYER IS INVESTIGATED AT TEMPERATURES 4.2-50 K IN MAGNETIC FIELDS UP TO 150 KILO-OERSTEDS. THE RESULTS INDICATE THAT THE DEFECTS OF CRYSTAL SURFACE STRONGLY CHANGE THE ANISOTROPY, FIELD AND TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCES OF TRANSVERSE MAGNETORESISTANCE AND GIVE RISE TO THE REDISTRIBUTION OF DIRECT CURRENT IN THE CRYSTAL AND ITS GATHERING INTO THE DEFECTIVE LAYER NEAR THE CRYSTAL SURFACE.
