Summary

The aim of this work was to study the energy interest of the use of liquid-solid phase change slurries for transport, distribution and storage of cold in comparison with traditional systems using single-phase secondary refrigerants. For this purpose, software was elaborated with simple models of the components of the systems (single-phase or with slurries) accounting for the thermal losses of the buildings, for two applications on the fields of air conditioning and food conservation. The energy consumption of the slurry systems is lower than that using a single-phase secondary refrigerant, whatever the application considered.
