JOULE-THOMSON EFFECT IN LIQUID HELIUM II.
Author(s) : HUANG B. J.
Type of article: Article
Summary
IT HAS BEEN SHOWN IN THE PRESENT STUDY THAT THE JOULE-THOMSON COEFFICIENTS OF LIQUID HELIUM II ARE EXTRAORDINARILY HIGH FOR TEMPERATURES FAR BELOW THE LAMBDA POINT AS COMPARED WITH ORDINARY REAL GASES OR LIQUIDS. ITS EFFECT ON THE THROTTLING PROCESS OF HELIUM II WAS SHOWN TO BE QUITE SIGNIFICANT AND SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT WHEN DEALING WITH TRANSPORT PROCESSES OF HELIUM II.
