Know the difference: CO2 vs. air quality sensors.

Author(s) : SCHELL M.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Volatile organic sensors have limited use in general building air-conditioning applications, since they do not identify or quantify the contaminants. As a result they may initiate high ventilation rates when these are not justified. They are subject to drift in calibration due to changes in temperature and humidity. CO2 sensors can measure the gas level and modulate fresh air supply to reach recognised levels. A.R.T.
