DEALS WITH THE DRIVES THAT CAN BE USED FOR HIGH CAPACITY CENTRALISED HEAT PUMPS (SEVERAL MEGAWATTS) AND WITH THE COMPRESSORS REQUIRED FOR OBTAINING ECONOMIC SOLUTIONS. WITH ITS HIGH EFFICIENCY AND MUCH SMALLER CONSUMPTION OF LUBRICATING OIL, THE GAS TURBINE IS A GOOD POSSIBLE SOLUTION IN THE DOMAIN OF HIGH CAPACITIES. IN CONCLUSION, THE AUTHOR GIVES TWO EXAMPLES OF POSSIBLE INCORPORATION OF THESE LARGE HEAT PUMPS IN A NEW AND IN AN EXISTING TOWN HEATING SYSTEM. R.R.
