Summary
International legislation on ozone depleting substances is based on Montreal Protocol decisions, but in the EU and in many individual countries, legislation exceeds these requirements. The state of affairs in the EU, in several "other countries" and according to the Montreal Protocol is summarized. It is to be noted that many of the "other countries" are EU member states, who have decided to go beyond the EU requirements.
