Type of article: Periodical article

Summary

The USA National Institute of Standards and Technology has published a section 3.32 covering LPG and anhydrous ammonia liquid measuring devices. This includes standards for indicating elements, specifying unit values, zeroing, graduation dimensions and the display of unit price and product identity. Tolerances are given for money value indications computed by analog or digital means. Measuring elements must have means for vapour elimination and flows must be indicated for density at 15 deg C, or can be temperature compensated. Discharge ranges and limitations must be marked. Test methods and tolerances are decreed, including special arrangements for motor fuel or other retail or wholesale liquids. User requirements are specified. D.W.H.
