Summary

On 1 January 2010 at the latest, all businesses where ammonia cooling installations are present or dangerous substances are moved, must comply with the permitted distances between such substances and vulnerable objects such as dwellings. In some cases businesses will have to take safety measures, and in a few cases licences will have to be withdrawn. The Ministerial Regulation concerning amendments to the External Safety Regulations for Installations (REVI) relates to existing ammonia cooling installations, railway yards and the distances from LPG filling stations.
