Number: pap. n. 57

Author(s) : CHOROWSKI M., DUDA P., DOWZENKO P., et al.

Summary

The present regulations are aimed to reduce SOx and NOx resulted from ship propulsion, especially at closed seas and bays, like the Baltic or Nordic Seas. Ship bunkering with LNG is an optional solution to manage heavy hydrocarbons. It creates emerging opportunities for LNG applications. The paper specifies requirements on ship bunkering and fuelling system. Thermo-mechanical problems related to the location of LNG cryogenic system in ship or ferry have been addressed. An exemplary flow scheme of the system including instrumentation and process control has been discussed with respect to applicable regulations.
