Summary

The average per capita consumption of fruit in France is 60 kg per year, of which a little more than half is imported. This figure has declined since 1988, due to the falling consumption of some varieties of apple, orange and peach, a decline that is offset somewhat by the boom in exotic fruits and in "small" seasonal fruit, like red fruit, plums and abricots.
