Low oxygen and elevated carbon dioxide atmospheres inhibit ethylene biosynthesis in preclimacteric and climacteric apple fruit.
Author(s) : GORNY J. R., KADER A. A.
Type of article: Article
Summary
It was concluded that ACC synthase is the key regulatory enzyme of ethylene biosynthesis and is the major site at which elevated CO2 and reduced O2 atmospheres inhibit ethylene biosynthesis, irrespective of fruit physiological maturity.
