Summary

THE DYNAMICS OF SPIN IN MAGNETICALLY DILUTED AND MAGNETICALLY ORDERED CRYSTALS WITH A ONE-AXIS ANISOTROPY IS CONSIDERED. THE EXAMPLES OF THESE CRYSTALS ARE, FOR THE FORMER CASE, TRANSITION-GROUP IONS IN PARAMAGNETIC SALTS AND, FOR THE LATTER CASE, A NUMBER OF COBALT COMPOUNDS. THE INITIAL STATE IS FORMED BY A STRONG ARBITRARY DIRECTED MAGNETIC FIELD WHICH IS ABRUPTLY SWITCHED OFF. THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED EXACTLY FOR ANY VALUE OF SPIN AND TEMPERATURE. TIME AND TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCES OF AVERAGED SPIN SPIN COMPONENTS DIFFER APPRECIABLY FROM THE CORRESPONDING RESULTS OF SEMI-CLASSICAL CONSIDERATION.
