Author(s) : MERICKA P.

Summary

THE AUTHORS CONSIDER VARIOUS TISSUES FOR GRAFTING AND THE METHODS FOR ENSURING STERILITY. METHODS OF PREPARING THE TISSUES AND STORAGE AT LOW TEMPERATURE PRIOR TO USE ARE DESCRIBED. EXAMINATION AFTER PRESERVATION AND STERILISATION DID NOT SHOW ANY DIFFERENCES IN THE ULTRASTRUCTURE OF COLLAGEN WHEN COMPARED WITH CONTROL SAMPLES. IN SAMPLES STABILISED BY A LOW CONCENTRATED GLUTARALDEHYDE FOR 14 DAYS, SPLITTING OF SEPARATE BUNDLES OCCURRED. SOME CLINICAL RESULTS IN GENERAL SURGERY AND NEUROSURGERY ARE GIVEN. G.R.S.
