Lowering of energy consumption in producing liquid low temperature carbon dioxide from smoke gases on the basis of a medium-pressure compressor.

Summary
The improvement of energy characteristics of medium-pressure carbon dioxide refrigerating cascade system is a problem at present. The analysis of its characteristics shows that they need to be improved with the purpose of energy consumption lowering under producing of liquid low-temperature dioxide carbon. It is offered to make the liquid low-temperature dioxide carbon in a medium-pressure carbon dioxide refrigerating cascade system, in the top cascade an absorption ammonia refrigerating machine was used. It produces cold at a level of -40 °C due to heat of flue gases, which is derived from the firing in the boiler unit. In the carbon dioxide refrigerating cascade described, the system discharge electric power can be reduced by up to 0.1 kW/h.kg by use of a carbon dioxide compressor of two-stage compression type 2 UP-5.4. In comparison with the carbon dioxide refrigerating cascade, the system with the compressor refrigerating machine in the top cascade, the energy consumption used in the manufacture of liquid low-temperature dioxide carbon in the system studied here is reduced by 40%.
