Lubricant for carbon dioxide.
Schmierstoffe für Kohlendioxid (CO2).
Author(s) : HESSE U.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Carbon dioxide is the leading candidate of natural refrigerants for mobile air conditioning applications, where it is to be used in transcritical vapour compression cycles. It is also being considered as a refrigerant in vapour compression cycles for other applications such as cascade systems for commercial application. Some soluble or partly soluble lubricants have been identified as candidates for possible use with carbon dioxide. Methods to determine carbon dioxide/lubricant behaviour with reduced experimental effort and some fluid property considerations are presented.
