Summary
The features of several candidate oils for HFC mixed refrigerants are described. Polyvinylether (PVE) is considered as the most suitable refrigerator oil especially for room air conditioning and packaged air conditioners, because of superior stability for water, contamination of process fluids, air and HCFC-22. In addition, for PVE, it is easy to adjust the miscibility for various HFC mixed refrigerants. In the actual air conditioning system, PVE shows much better performance and reliability than POE.
