Summary

World-wide annual production of refrigeration compressors of all sizes and types is estimated to be over 100 million units. The industry continues to grow at a double-digit rate, fueled by requirements for comfort, worker productivity, manufacturing process control, food storage and transport and health-related needs. This growth is especially evident in developing countries that represent a large percentage of the world's population. The author studies: compressor lubricant usage, current lubricant developments, challenges and opportunities, current procedure and recommendation.
