Summary
In this study, in vivo lesions induced by a cryoprobe were investigated. Temperatures previously assumed effective for tumour ablation occur only in parts of the total cryolesion volume. The authors question the adequacy of the recommended 1-cm zone of normal liver tissue induced in the cryolesion to provide temperatures below -40 °C.
