Summary
The paper is a part of a series of publications about the development of an automated method of calculation of vapour-compression refrigeration system characteristics, and deals with a new approach in the forming of characteristics of heat exchange apparatuses (as a part of refrigerating machines characteristics calculations) in the systems of automated design. The approach involves conducting the design calculations to determine the governing parameters, necessary for synthesis of system's characteristics (checking calculation). For the generalization of these parameters a common classification of the apparatuses was adopted according to their purposes and principles of arrangement of working media flows. The approach uses several special data bases, comprising relationships for heat transfer coefficients and hydraulic resistance, working substances and recommendations on primary selection of mass rates, hydraulic diameters and degree of finning. The methods of assessment of the allowable values for flows hydraulic resistance and convergence in iteration calculations are presented.
