Measurements of gas-phase PVTx properties for the ternary R32-R125-R143a mixtures.

Author(s) : KAYUKAWA Y., TADA S., ZHANG H. L., et al.

Summary

It is suggested that the ternary HFC mixture R32-R125-R143a system is a promising alternative to replace R502 which is being used widely in various commercial refrigeration systems for low temperature applications. In the paper, the authors report the gas-phase PVTx properties measured by using the Burnett isothermal-isochoric coupling method. The experimental study covers a wide range of temperatures (305-380 K), pressures up to 4.6 MPa, densities up to 200 kg/m3 at four different compositions of R32-R125-R143a (10-45-45 mass%), (20-30-50 mass%), (33-34-33 mass%), and (20-60-20 mass%), respectively. A thermodynamic model with a form of virial expansion equation of state has also been developed for the mixture in its gaseous phase.
