Summary
The paper reports on an experimental investigation to study the parameters that influence the frost formation process on circular cylinders in humid air crossflow. An external refrigerator is used to cool an antifreeze solution having a mixture of 90% methanol and 10% ethylene glycol. Measured parameters include the overall heat transfer coefficient, frost density, and the frost growth rate.
